The defense firm rolled out a new Switchblade design dubbed the Switchblade 400, as well as an update to its VAPOR vertical takeoff-and-landing drone.
The effort falls under France’s “Larinae” project, launched in May 2022 by the French Defense Innovation Agency (AID) and the defense ministry’s procurement agency, to find domestic loitering munitions with a 50 km (31 mile) range and autonomy of at least 60 minutes.
“Europe's having a moment right now. And it's really recognition of the threat, and it's recognition matched with funding,” said Greg Kausner, Anduril's senior vice president of global defense.

The large order for unmanned aerial vehicles includes Ababil-4 and Ababil 5, which serve multipurpose missions from reconnaissance, patrolling and combat operations, according to Iranian media.
Dan Slasky said he sees plenty of opportunity in the niche market of smaller, but not too small, drones.
Under the French Colibri (Hummingbird) project, 100 of the short-range loitering munitions are due for transfer to Ukraine, as part of broader plans by Paris to acquire 2,000 units of different types overall.
UVision's CEO Ran Gozali said his vision of the company also includes transitioning from “single loitering munitions towards autonomous, multi-launch arrays.”
“We're not just kind of rolling this out of the lab for the first time,” said Anduril Chief Strategy Officer Chris Brose. “This has been something that customers have seen and evaluated and tested and used.”

Anduril will "focus on building what we believe is the sort of supplementary capabilities that we can get quickly and we need to get quickly, which is autonomous systems and weapons of all classes," said Chief Strategy Officer Chris Brose.
However, a Kratos spokesperson said the company is still open to pursuing CCA tranche 2 as a prime, which would seemingly necessitate an internal firewall with the engine "merchant supplier" effort.
A SOCOM spokesperson told Breaking Defense, “Our next step is to purchase limited quantities of the Rogue 1 for further test and evaluation in support of a fielding decision and follow-on Low-Rate Initial Production in late calendar year 2025.”
